VincentCare Supports LGBTQIA+ Youth on Wear It Purple Day

Shockingly, nearly one in four LGBTQIA+ young people has experienced homelessness at some point before reaching the age of 21. More than a quarter of these cases are self-reported as occurring because of their LGBTQIA+ identity, along with other issues such as mental health, family rejection, family violence, and financial stress.

This is why VincentCare proudly participated in Wear It Purple Day. Wearing their best purple outfits, staff across our sites show these young people that:
  • We see them,
  • We understand the challenges they face, and
  • With our Rainbow Tick and Pride in Place programs, we are always here to help them with specialist support that inclusively responds to their unique needs.

We want every LGBTQIA+ young person to be able to move from being #HomelessToHouseProud.
