An innovative new partnership with Eva
Residents at VincentCare’s new North Melbourne redevelopment will sleep in comfort thanks to an innovative new partnership with Eva mattresses.
Awarded Australia’s 2017/18 Best Mattress in a Box, Eva have chosen VincentCare for their One for Ten: Eva’s Pledge program, donating 136 mattresses to the new $47m homeless hub and resource centre set to open in March 2019.
Ken Lau from Eva mattresses said that Eva was dedicated to the community and sought to do what they could to give back.
“Our One for Ten program commits one mattress to charities and homeless shelters across Australia for every ten mattresses sold. We have had a very busy year, and are very happy to be partnering with Ozanam for our biggest donation yet: 136 mattresses.
“At Eva we believe that sound sleep and the health benefits it brings should be achievable and accessible for everyone, everywhere. We have huge respect for charities like VincentCare who work tirelessly to help those in need, and we wanted to do our bit to assist.”
Senior Practitioner at VincentCare, Doug Harding, believes in the importance of a good night’s sleep.
“Imagine the emotional and physical stress of sleeping on a friend’s floor, or in your car, or on the streets. This is something very familiar for most people who come to Ozanam House. A comfortable night’s rest is an essential component of the recovery process for our clients.”
Partnerships such as these demonstrate the immense value of in-kind support businesses can provide to the Ozanam House Redevelopment, and VincentCare is continuing to seek innovative ways to work with community-minded businesses to meet the needs of vulnerable Victorians in the delivery of this significant project.
“We would like to acknowledge Eva for their generous support to VincentCare and to people experiencing homelessness. We look forward to mattress move-in day, and to the better sleep and comfort we will be able to offer our residents,” Doug said.
