Volunteer Stories

Fiona Pole is a Case Manager within VincentCare’s LGBTI portfolio. She works with young LGBTI clients at our Northern Communty Hub in Glenroy and is “proud to work for an organisation that recognises  an ‘I treat everyone the same’ approach doesn’t always work.

VincentCare is proud to be a diverse organisation and we want to wish a Happy Lunar New Year to all those celebrating today.

Over the past two weeks, our art therapy group has taken part in lantern making workshops, and this morning Client Volunteer Garry and Community Volunteer Evie decorated the Ozanam Community Centre (OCC) Dining Room with a colourful lantern display.

Amy Huang 300 x 300

My name is Amy Huang and I have been volunteering at VincentCare's Northern Hub in Glenroy for 11 months and I’m now volunteering at Quin House until February 2017.

I am currently in my third year of a double degree of social work and psychology at RMIT University. Previously I had completed a diploma of graphic design and had been doing web design for 3 years, when I decided to change my career and completed a diploma of community welfare.

This year the acupuncture volunteers at VincentCare’s Ozanam House and Quin House have provided 720 acupuncture sessions to clients who are experiencing homelessness, or those at risk of homeless and recovering from addiction.
