The decision to leave a final gift to charity is often driven by a direct experience or connection with an organisation, its people and its services.
When VincentCare receives bequests, there is a formal acknowledgement process made by our organisation to the legal firm. We also offer extended family of the deceased the opportunity to meet (if appropriate) and find out more about our work, and to confirm how the bequest will be used.
On occasion, we are able to find out some detail about the story, connection or motivation of why someone has remembered VincentCare in their Will. However, in many cases, little information is known or provided to us by the Executor of the estate. Where information is made available, more often than not, the motivation to gift can be traced back to the care and support given to an individual or loved one by our organisation. Gifts in Wills are often received long after the valued experience of care has ceased.
