Country Pride hits it's stride!

This week, we had the pleasure of attending the 27th ChillOut Festival – Australia’s longest-running and largest regional LGBTQIA+ pride event, held annually in Daylesford, Victoria.

The festival, which attracted over 30,000 visitors to the region over the Labour Day long weekend, served as an excellent platform to convey our message of providing assistance not only when needed but also emphasising the importance of addressing the root causes of discrimination-related disadvantages.

Inspired by the occasion, our team collaborated with local Vinnies to host a booth at the event and showcase our commitment to providing both fabulous bargains and compassionate support. Reflecting on this collaboration, VincentCare’s LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Manager, Matthew emphasised its significance in engaging meaningfully with LGBTQIA+ communities. He stressed the importance of understanding unique needs and combating discrimination-related hardships with love and celebration.

The Vinnies Shop manager echoed these sentiments, expressing joy at the positive feedback received from volunteers and customers alike. The shop was abuzz with excitement, and we’re thrilled to share that we won the shopfront display category in the 2024 ChillOut Decorations Competition.

This collaborative effort not only underscores VincentCare’s commitment to providing help but also to addressing the drivers of discrimination and fostering a society of love and acceptance. It’s a proud moment for us, and the entire community as they came together to celebrate diversity and support one another during ChillOut Festival.
