Client Advisory Committee talks Client Outcomes
Early in August, the Client Advisory Committee invited the Manager of Insights and Integration Karen Mackenzie to talk about client outcomes.
In 2016, VincentCare established its Client Advisory Committee. The Committee exists as a representative body for the people we support and accommodate. Early in August, the Committee invited the Manager of Insights and Integration Karen Mackenzie to talk about client outcomes. A presentation took place, and the Committee were asked what outcomes had been created for them during their time with VincentCare – including both positive and negative outcomes, as well as incidental and accidental outcomes.
The ensuing 45 minutes was magic!
The conversation was exceptionally led by Karen as Committee members shared their stories. Talking about outcomes provided an opportunity for a gentle and sincere dialogue within a safe environment. The main theme of the discussion was not that 3 of the 5 participants had secure housing outcomes as a direct result of the service from VincentCare, but that they believed their best outcomes were based in psychosocial growth and security. The presentation also demonstrated the importance of creating opportunities for shared decision making with clients when designing future support programs.
